Thriving in Uncertainty

Spring is here, things are starting to finally bloom. The latest uncertainty has brought about difficult challenges and emotional stress for many of us. We are all so used to the certainty and the flexibility in our lives .. and now the sudden restriction and confinement. I think most of us can agree that we have taken a lot for granted. No question about it. It’s normal to feel anger, irritability, and frustration. Sadness and helplessness. Even loneliness. First and foremost, you have to look at what you are grateful for.

So what can we do? We can’t control it but we can control ‘how we look at things’. You have a choice to see the silver lining in it, such as spending more quality time with your family, having the time to be creative, or learning and growing on a personal or spiritual level. Or you can stay stuck in fear, doubt, and focus on the lack. But the truth is, that won’t get you anywhere, nor speed up things in the world. It’s important to remember:  This is temporary. It’s usually these life-changing times that cause us to look at things in a completely different light and realize the blessings. Be open to the ‘new’…

Let’s take a closer look at how we can thrive and be more resilient. Ask yourself: How can I use this time wisely?, What am I able to do now, that I wasn’t able to do before the crisis?, What opportunities do I have to evolve?, What is my soul telling me?, What am I discovering or learning about myself?

In order to continue to evolve, it’s important to keep your mind and body strong.  Stay active and do things that feed your soul. Here are some suggestions:

  • Get outside in nature

  • Pick a quiet space to read, or just be alone (at home or outside)

  • Meditate

  • Keep a Gratitude journal - list all the things you are grateful for

  • Do a fast that you’ve always wanted to do

  • Do some form of exercise

  • Read an inspirational book

  • Do something creative, like drawing, painting, music, etc.

  • Work on some small home improvements

  • Do some gardening

In addition, make sure you have a strong support system. A friend, family member, spouse, therapist, or coach. Reach out and stay connected. Everyone needs social interaction and personability. Communicate with positive people. Stay away from the negativity. Limit media use, and remain focused on love and gratitude.

Lastly, a powerful way to attract prosperity and abundance into your life is to give. Give to those in need in whatever way you can. It doesn’t have to be money-you could give your time, a helping hand, or a listening ear. Be kind, smile… be the best you can be. The law of attraction is real.
